Charles C. Carella has been a member of Carella, Byrne, Cecchi, Olstein, Brody & Agnello since 1976 and is Chairman of the Executive Committee. He has extensive experience in many areas of corporate practice, including mergers and acquisitions, bank finance, state and federal administrative matters, and environmental and solid waste matters. He has appeared on numerous occasions before the Board of Public Utilities in all types of utility matters and has served as a Trustee/Receiver in cases initiated by the Federal Trade Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Carella has also served as Provisional Director upon appointment by the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, Chancery Division.

Mr. Carella graduated from Fordham University in 1955 with a B.S. degree and earned an LL.B. degree from Rutgers University in 1958. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1959 and the New York Bar in 1983.

With a distinguished record of service in state government, Mr. Carella has served as an Assistant Prosecutor as well as Special Prosecutor of Essex County, Director of the New Jersey State Lottery Commission, Executive Secretary to the Governor, State of New Jersey, 1975-1976, and Member of the Ethical Standards Commission for the State of New Jersey. He also served as Chairman, New Jersey State Racing Commission, 1976-1980, and as Chief Counsel to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners.

Mr. Carella is a member of the Essex County, New Jersey State, New York State and American Bar Associations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the American Judicature Society. He is a member of the Finance Board of the Archdiocese of Newark, a Trustee Fellow of Fordham University, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Newark, Inc. He was formerly Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and served as a member of the Boards of Trustees of Robert Wood Johnson University, the University Health System of New Jersey, the Board of Regents of Seton Hall University, the Board of Higher Education State of New Jersey, and the Board of Bally Gaming International, Inc.

Mr. Carella has been named to Who's Who in American Law.
